UTE STAMPEDE BABY

Yes, it never fails....Sams Birthday has almost always fell on the UTE STAMPEDE. I think there has only been one or two b-days that didn't hit the Stampede. Do you know how hard it is to have a B-day during this time....Well Sam does! I always think next year I will do better and we will celebrate her B-day better....but then it rolls around and bam....CRAZY time! So I am a little late with Sams B-day video but I guess better late than never. HAPPY LATE B-DAY SAM! Pause my music and click the movie to watch Sam grow up! Sam asked me to add "THE CLIMB" by Miley Cyrus to her video because the song has personal meaning to her with situations that she has had to deal with. This is for you Sam!

Grandmas 89th Birthday

On Saturday we got to spend the evening with all my aunts and uncles and cousins and their kids from my dads side of the family and my mom and John and of course my Grandma. It was Grandmas 89th b-day. She likes to spend her birthday at Prestwich Farms at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. We all meet up there in a banquet room and eat a nice meal. I had the halibut fish and chips, Kurtis had chicken strips, Steph had Spaghetti, Sam had linguine, and Mike just randomly pointed her finger to an item on the menu and was hoping is was good. She ended up with chicken Parmesans. Dinner was really good. We sent Steph around with the camera to take all the shots. She was having fun!

SURPRISE GRANDMA!Afterwards we always have birthday brownies baked by My cousin Michelle. There is some secret ingredient in their that makes them yummy! Cassie and Calvin swear the secret ingredient is ex lax. (Inside joke....well maybe not much of a joke to them LOL). When the kids are done they all take off out to the back of the restaurant and have a game of football. It's hard to get them to leave. We are so blessed to still have grandma around. She is doing so well. What a trooper she is and such a neat lady. After my grandpas funeral she broke her hip, then after that was healed, she fell down raking leaves and broke the other hip. She doesn't get around as much as she used to but she is doing well and we love her! After dinner we took the kids up to see the Thistle Dam. They didn't think to much of it, but I remember back in the day when Thistle Dam was created by a mud slide and is was a big deal. I remember going up quite often and watching the progress the mud slide was making and the damage it was creating. I wanted the lake to remain. I thought that would be an awesome spot for a lake, but my vote didn't count darnit, and they drained the lake to reveal all the flooded and destroyed homes and rebuilt the highway and tunneld through the dam to create the railroad path. Wow that has been many years ago. What an awesome sight mother nature is. We then continued on home that way by going through Birds Eye and into Sanpete County then down through the canyon and home. It was a longer route, but was nice to see a different change of scenery on the way home. Sometimes the quick way home is not always the best way home! But any-hooo--- happy B-day Grandma!

Happy Birthday Dad

Today would have been my Dads birthday if he were still alive. He died in 1992 of a massive stroke. He was 50 years old. To young if you ask me! I miss him greatly! Here is a picture that me and mom found tonight. This was a picture of his 50th birthday. Little did we know it would be his last.

We found a couple of other pics of him. This one was of him out on his project for the State Road. He worked for the State Road for as long as I can remember. Growing up he worked in design. I remember always going to his office and watching him draft plans up. He'd always buy me a pop from the pop machine. He later moved up to a Project Engineer. I think this was a very stressfull job for him. But he did it well!
This one was of him in his office at home most likely doing somekind of studying. He was always doing somekind of learning for work. It didn't come easy to him, but he worked at it till he could figure it out.
I just wanted to wish him a Happy Birthday. I miss you Dad!

Johns Birthday

Friday me, Steph and Kurtis took my mom and John out to dinner for Johns birthday. We couldn't decide where to go so we let Steph pick the place. Her choices were the T-bone or Cracker Barrel. She almost chose the T-bone because it was closer, and for those of you who know Steph...well she doesn't like to travel. But she decided on the Cracker Barrel because it was newer. Sam didn't go because she had a school dance, then after the dance her and Maddie hung out at our house and watched a movie and ate chinese food that Patricia went and got for them. Thanks Maddie and Patricia for taking care of my Sammie! Mike went to Springville with us but went to Mapleton to hang out with her EFY friends. One friend had just come up from California. But anyway....Happy Birthday John.
