Grandma Christiansen's 90th B-day dinner
Saturday night we spent some time with the Christiansen family to celebrate Grandmas 90th b-day! What an accomplishment for her. She has been through so much. We had a great dinner at the Oak Crest (which is now a Prestwich Farms) up the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. That is where we have celebrated her b-day for quite a few years. We had some great converstaions and good times. We finished off the dinner with Michelle's browinies. Then out to the parking lot where everyone played around with the wheelchair. Lots of fun!
Girls Camp
This last week Mike, Sam and myself got the experience to go to girls camp. One whole week.....oooohhh. Had some crazy times, had some good times, and had some very spiritual times. Thirty girls in our ward! We went to the Heber Valley campground with the stake. Our girls were bussed in. Here are a few of the highlights of the camping experience.
Our Stake stayed at the Marjorie Pay Hinckley Campground.Getting settled into our cabins, doing a little certification, and getting dolled up for the day.
There were some get to know you games with other wards. Different campgrounds took turns hosting wards.
By doing our chants at flag ceremony, we won the Talula totom pole twice!
Can you see TALULA in the middle of everyone?
Alyssa did a lot of the girls nails. She did them sooooo cute!
One morning I french braided Sams hair and started a snowball effect. A bunch of the girls wanted the same. Then Sam did the buns after I did the braids.
Instead of Hats today Melissa and me decided to wear the bandannas. But we still used our purple flowers which was our color for integrity.
We hiked down to the waterfront. Some girls played Volley ball or horse shoes while we waited to get on the lake.
The girls got canoes, and the leaders got paddle boats. In the stake we had one canoe tip over. Luckily it wasn't our ward.
I was in charge of the craft back at camp. So we did magnets with our name on them to hang in the girls cabins.
Having some down time.
Here is cabin 1 which was my cabin on dinner duty. Cutting up veggies galore for stew.
Shaeden couldn't wait to french braid Lisa's hair.
We had to do our skit so Mike and Ashley got all dolled up.
Our Stake put on the cutest skit about the Wizard of Oz with a spiritual twist on it. LOVED IT! Their costumes were so darn cute!
On this day we got to go to the challenge courses. I was stationed to help out with the Zip line. Had a blast watching all the girls conquer their fears on this.
This day we did our hike. We hiked up to the top of a mountain and got a gorgeous view of the lake we had been to earlier in the week.
The biggest hit at camp was Kennedy bringing her volley ball and the girls played Annie I Over every free chance they had.
Chillin out for a bit!
The last day we were there, we did humanitarian projects. Veterans cards, newborn kits, school kits, and quilts
That night our speakers were "ONE CLEAR VOICE". They talked about their songs and sang some of them. They were so good. Then later we had our testimony meeting which was amazing.
Then Friday morning we got up packed up, cleaned the campground spotless and came home! It was time to come home. I looked forward to my own bed and a good shower! And our Wizard of Oz theme gave a whole new meaning to "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!"

Sanpete Shootout
Steelers 10U did another tournament in Ephraim called the Sanpete Shootout. They placed 2nd and fought a good battle with the first place team. Steph had been in quite a slump for a while so I told her I would pay her $1 for every swing, $3 for every foul, and $5 for every hit that is in play. Well lets say she is out of her slump now. She earned $71 at this tournament. You do the math! It was a fun tournament to watch. Mom and John came over from the cabin, and Mike and Sam came, and Grandma Park made it over later. It was a lot of fun! They have now played over 40 games and lots more games to come!
Steph got to do some pitching in this game.
Getting ready to bat
Batting and getting to first
Stealing 2nd
Lots of snow cones throughout the day!
Few minuets for a lunch break
Aghhh how cute!
The award ceremony
Our team with the first place winners the Bullets
And our wonderful Steelers!
